Tracy Geraldine Beck is an Associate Professor at the Nelson Mandela University. She is a Professional Accountant (SA) and is a committee member of the South African Institute of Professional Accountants (SAIPA), Eastern Cape Region since 2015. Tracy was Head of Department of Applied Accounting from 2017 to 2020 and is currently the Director of the School of Accounting. As part of a team, she has won several Institutional engagement awards for various academic engagement projects. She was awarded the Faculty of Business and Economic Sciences Excellent Teacher of the Year in 2015. Tracy serves on several research related committees within the Nelson Mandela University and holds a Doctor in Philosophy degree in Accounting which she obtained from the Nelson Mandela University in December 2022. She has supervised a number of postgraduate Master studies students and is co-author of various conference papers and journal articles. Her research interests include accounting education, financial accounting, and work-readiness of accounting graduates.

Tanya Thompson is a Lecturer in the Department of Accounting and Law at Mangosuthu University of Technology. Tanya has lectured at a few South African tertiary institutions on various undergraduate and postgraduate academic programmes. She holds a Masters of Accountancy in Financial Accounting from the University of KwaZulu-Natal and presented a paper at an overseas conference. Her research interests include financial reporting, financial and accounting education and public sector accounting.

George Nel is an Associate Professor in the School of Accountancy at Stellenbosch University, where he also serves as the Deputy Director of Research and Head of the Financial Accounting (BCom) division. He has successfully supervised Masters and PhD students to completion and has acted as an external examiner for various higher education institutions. George is an Associate Editor at the South African Journal of Economic and Management Sciences, has been a guest editor for several special issues, and serves on the editorial boards of multiple accredited journals. George holds a PhD in Finance from the Stellenbosch Business School. His research interests include corporate governance (specifically stakeholder relationships, executive director`s remuneration, and risk governance) as well as the consequences of corporate reporting. He has presented numerous papers at both local and international conferences and published several articles in South African and international journals.

Vanessa Gregory is a Senior Lecturer in Accounting at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, specialising in financial reporting, IFRS, and sustainability. She combines strong technical expertise with a passion for student development, innovative teaching, and applied research in accounting, integrated reporting and sustainability reporting.

Leandi Steenkamp is a Senior Lecturer in Accounting and Auditing at the Central University of Technology, Free State (CUT), where she has served since 2009. She holds multiple professional designations, including that of Chartered Accountant [CA(SA)], Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). She completed a PhD in Auditing in 2017, and has extensive experience in academia, research, and professional practice. Beyond academia, she is Chairperson of the Council of the Performing Arts Centre of the Free State (PACOFS) and Treasurer of The Rhapsody Orchestra (NPO). As an avid freelance musician, she plays clarinet and saxophone in various orchestras and ensembles.

Joseph Akande is a finance and accounting academic with extensive experience across South Africa, Namibia, and Nigeria. He currently serves as a Professor at Walter Sisulu University and holds a C2 NRF rating for his impactful research in financial reporting, stability, inclusion, and econometrics in emerging markets. Prof. Akande has published over 70 peer-reviewed, accredited articles and co-edited books with Springer Nature, earning awards such as the Research Excellence Award and AAFA Best Paper.
He actively contributes to academia through postgraduate supervision (5 PhDs, 25 Master's), editorial board roles (e.g., *AAFA, AJBER, HSSC*), and as Chair of the Faculty Research Higher Degree and Ethics Committee. He also leads the Rural Financial Systems project under SARNE and serves on national and international research panels.
A Fellow of ACCA and a Certified Financial Modelling and Valuation Analyst (FMVA), he has demonstrated leadership in program development, academic mentoring, and research-driven community engagement. Prof. Akande brings to SAAA a wealth of interdisciplinary insight and a deep commitment to advancing accounting research in the region and on the continent.

Tarish Jagwanth is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Accounting Sciences at the Nelson Mandela University. Tarish lectures first-year accounting modules within the Financial Accounting division at Nelson Mandela University but has also previously lectured undergraduate modules within the Managerial Accounting and Financial Management and Taxation divisions at other institutions, throughout his years of experience in academia which dates back to 2013. He holds a Master of Commerce in Accounting qualification and is currently in the process of finalising his Doctor of Philosophy in Accounting thesis for examination submission.
His research interests are within accounting education, and he has published research in academic journals, accredited conference proceedings and presented research papers at numerous local and international conferences.
Tarish is also currently actively involved in postgraduate student supervision, having previously supervised a number of postgraduate students to completion at Masters level studies.

Rolien Kunz is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Auditing at the University of Pretoria, lecturing on the Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting Sciences, previously known as CTA. Rolien is a Chartered Accountant (SA) and acted as external examiner for various higher education institutions on both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She is a co-author of Auditing Fundamentals in a South African Context and the co-editor of the accompanying question book. Rolien was awarded Teaching and Learning awards and Research awards by the Economic and Management Sciences Faculty of the University of Pretoria. She holds a Masters in Commerce in Auditing degree from the University of Pretoria and is currently registered for her PhD. Rolien was part of the research team responsible for the SAICA Competency Framework CA2025. She has presented a number of papers at both local and overseas conferences and published several articles in both South African and international journals. Her research interest includes accounting education as well as the use of the latest information technology in auditing and education.
